Occupy Atlanta hosted a press conference with Reverend Jesse Jackson at Peachtree-Pine, the downtown homeless shelter where members of Occupy Atlanta are currently staying on the 4th floor.<br />
<br />
Jackson touched on many issues ranging from "the wealth gap to the health gap," and spoke about the two party system saying "the two parties are not the same, we do have a choice," he also touched on issues of poverty, foreclosure, affordable housing and the forgiveness of student loans.

Jackson linked the Civil Rights struggle during the sixties with the Occupy Atlanta protests. Jackson said that Martin Luther KIng, Jr was involved in many occupations. He called the Occupy Atlanta demonstrations "an extension of the Civil Rights movement."
